That's awesome @lynds and congratulations on the upgrade to "farmer!" Looks like you have a lovely spread there. Crows are cool birds, but they are mondo destructive to some crops. Our former

I like Harbor Freight, for the most part... I'd describe myself as a bit of a "convert" from thinking of them as a seller of "cheap Chinese crap." For your basic run-of-the-mill stuff,

Pretty successful rescue mission, all in all... the beach was not the right place for him. He probably flew across the water from Diamond Point and was happy not to drown...

I remember that alien artifact! I think it was somewhere like Nebraska or South Dakota.

In principle, I'm in alignment with that. There are nuances, of course. I write a lot of "long content" and as part of that I realize that I periodically write about something I wrote about in

We're growing more and more of our own food, and we have a huge freezer in the garage and buy bulk whenever something is "on special." Not so long ago, we decided to forego garbage and recycling

Cool! You actually got some of the "sparkly bits" in the photo!

There has been a real disconnect between real income growth and the growth of the real cost of living in the US, for decades. We're certainly part of that 70%... a large part of the problem remains

Brilliant pictures! I never heard that myth, at least not growing up in Denmark... I remember them mostly being treated as beneficial creatures because they would eat mites and other tiny pests.

I'm just glad to see actual commerce being developed here, aside from just "make money trading tokens!" It's a great use case... I might get involved with selling my (physical) artwork.

Consumerism and materialism strike me as ultimately very destructive... growing up in Denmark and now living in the US has really underscored the differences between a "me" and a "we"

Since we are entering the realm of speculation, perhaps angels - being the powerful entities that they are - don't actually "sing" in the sense we understand it, but instead project song directly

Hi @andrastia, thanks for stopping by, and for your thoughtful comment! I know there's an old saying that "haste makes waste," but I much prefer the Danish interpretation which loosely translates

I suppose weather always "depends" on many things... part of my childhood we lived in Nairobi, Kenya which is practically ON the equator, but it's at 5,900 feet (1,800m) above sea level, so it's

I can appreciate that, living in the "deep freezer zone" of the US, as you do. Our corner of the northwest is definitely much milder; we don't really get protracted freezes in winter, just a

Conversely, the people who could do a good job of running things typically want no part of it because it's an insane shitshow!

What you say is definitely true, and in our particular case we had a "common enemy" we were working to get away from so a lot of differences were set aside to focus on building an alternative.

Thanks for stopping by @cuddlekitten!

Our respective toxic upbringings left us with a rather elaborate and complex quilt of "food scars," some of which continue to rear their occasional heads. Simple awareness always seems to help.

Sea glass isn't everywhere; you have to have a beach that is near where there has been a population for some decades, so glass garbage was created 50-100+ years ago. Often, we don't look down on the beach
