I am really glad I decided to give this community a second look after having seen it tagged in various posts for a long time. At the time, I was very involved with once mega-busy "Power House

I'm totally onboard with the "No plastic floors" law. I think it should be enacted as soon as possible. My guess is those wood planks will look amazing once they are clean and refinished. They

Something has to give. At least here in the US, it does. And housing is front and center... here in our area, the prices have been rocketing upwards for years, and in our neighborhood, the average time

She's certainly a very beautiful cat! It's good to offer some gentle encouragement and give our cats a chance to get used to new sounds. Our "Shadow" was quite frightened of the vacuum cleaner

I suppose one of the things I have to confess to in all this is that I tend to be someone who'd like an outcome that "makes as many people as possible happy." I do think we're talking about pretty

If we had a so-called "perfect world," I'd be inclined to agree. But the broad-based assumption of "rational self-interest" tends to not hold true, which is where voluntaryism often

Clearly, you also pay attention to your surroundings, and to the small signs the seasons and nature send us as "markers." Things are running late here in western Washington, due to a particularly

Thank you! Yes, it's not often we see it in bloom, since it mostly gets harvested and used before reaching that point. But we like to let a few go to blooms and then seed so we can save the seeds for next

Above all, remember to show up every day! That cannot be emphasized enough, although you may have to have been here for a while to fully appreciate how much it matters. Hive truly is the sort of project

Yellowjackets and wasps are just nasty pieces of work... some of the more aggressive variants seem to get mad for no reason other than "they can." That second shot reminds me of a red hornet...

In some ways this whole thing touches on the greater question of what "ownership" is, and what sorts of things you can "own." In many ways, ownership causes a lot problems in the world...

Thanks for the post... she's another new name for me; always curious and gave her a listen. Seems like some good stuff mixed with a bit of "mainstream clubby" sound which I am less fond of. Been

I do love sushi, and Japanese food in general. Growing up in Denmark, it was not something we ever had access to, at least not back when I was a youngster and still living here. Being on the US west coast

I has been cool to watch your cats grow from wee kittens to beautiful adult cats. Pets, in general, are really awesome... and typically a nice point of sanity in a generally crazy world! And yes, the

Some beautiful shots! There's something very special about late afternoon photography during the "golden hour," as painters used to call it.

You're quite right @acidyo: most content on Hive would not get paid anything on more "conventional" sites that pay contributors for content. And there have been many, going back all the way to

The imbalances here in the USA seem to be getting worse and worse; we are now in a place where the majority of the population (53%, last I read) cannot afford their lives... meaning that they have to forego

It's definitely a long and ongoing process! The only time I really felt like I had my world down to a "manageable" size was over a 2-year period when I got a divorce, went bankrupt and moved

It's a nice thought, to be sure! Not thinking it will happen for me, but I am actively trying to manage my life in such a way that I will be able to "work" at things that are mostly relaxing

I'd say that for me change is something that mostly happens slowly and gradually. I'm never likely to be the first to rush into a new trend or technology, and I never was; in many cases I'm likely to be
