Feliz noche amigos de Hive, el pasado 29 de septiembre fue el cumpleaños de mi mejor amiga. Y ella ese día tuvo trabajo y yo estaba en clases y no nos pudimos ver. Así que decidimos que entre la semana nos veríamos para celebrar su cumpleaños e ir a comer. Decidimos irnos a la Asunción y es que desde hace algún tiempo yo quería ir a comer a un restaurante que siempre veo por Instagram y este fue el momento perfecto para ir.
Good evening, Hive friends. My best friend's birthday was on September 29th. Since she had work and I had classes that day, we couldn't meet up. So, we decided to get together sometime during the week to celebrate her birthday and grab a bite to eat. We decided to head to La Asunción; for a while, I had been wanting to try a restaurant I always see on Instagram, and this was the perfect opportunity to go.
El casco histórico de la Asunción que es la capital de la isla es un lugar hermoso. El restaurante al cual queríamos ir, está justo al frente de la catedral. Tal vez en otra oportunidad la catedral este abierta y podamos tomar algunas fotos para compartir aquí. El lugar al que fuimos se llama la guachafita y venden de todo un poco, además de ser un lugar muy lindo.
The historic center of La Asunción the island's capital is a beautiful place. The restaurant we wanted to visit is located right across from the cathedral. Perhaps next time the cathedral will be open, and we can take some photos to share here. The place we went to is called La Guachafita; it’s a lovely spot that sells a little bit of everything.
Está foto la tomo mi mejor amiga y debo decir que me gustó mucho! Estábamos decidiendo dónde nos íbamos a sentar. Solo ella y yo sabemos lo que este año a dolido y todo lo que hemos pasado. Y a pesar de todo, siempre sabemos que debemos celebrar el simple echo de estar vivos. Ya que el cualquier momento la vida se nos va.
My best friend took this photo, and I have to say, I really liked it! We were deciding where to sit. Only she and I know how painful this year has been and everything we’ve been through. Yet, despite everything, we always know we should celebrate the simple fact of being alive because life can slip away at any moment.
Yo no soy mucho de beber cervezas, pero el calor que ha estado haciendo en la isla es horrible. Así que nos tomamos una cerveza para calmar un poco el calor y además a mi amiga le encantan las cervezas. Así que una cerveza para celebrar y desear que esté nuevo año de su vida todo mejore.
I’m not really much of a beer drinker, but the heat on the island has been awful. So, we had a beer to cool off a bit plus, my friend loves beer. So, a beer to celebrate and wish for everything to get better in this new year of her life.
Mientras yo me arreglaba mi pelo y revisaba mi celular ella me tomo algunas fotos y la verdad que me gustaron mucho y las comparto aquí con ustedes.
While I was fixing my hair and checking my phone, she took a few photos of me; I really liked them, so I’m sharing them with you here.
Luego procedimos a revisar el menú ya que venden de todo un poco. Tienen hamburguesas, pizzas, shawarmas, pollo y ofrecen un menú ejecutivo. Una gran variedad para elegir.
Then we proceeded to check out the menu, since they sell a bit of everything. They have burgers, pizzas, shawarmas, and chicken, and they offer an executive menu. There is a wide variety to choose from.
Decidimos tomarnos una foto antes de comer, mi amiga dice que necesito un mejor celular ya que ella quedó oscura en la foto.
We decided to take a photo before eating; my friend says I need a better phone because she came out dark in the picture.
Para almorzar decidimos pedirnos una milanesa de pollo, acompañada con papas fritas y ensalada cesar y debo decir que la comida estuvo deliciosa y esperamos volver a este lugar. Tal vez la próxima podríamos volver de noche.
For lunch, we decided to order a chicken milanesa served with french fries and a Caesar salad; I have to say the food was delicious, and we hope to return to this place. Perhaps next time we could come back in the evening.
Por último para refrescarnos un poco y caminar un rato nos comimos una paleta que debo decir que estaba bastante refrescante.
Finally, to cool off a bit and go for a walk, we had a popsicle which, I must say, was quite refreshing.
