“So, instead of telling folks to just get up, 'arise!' is the Bible way – OK.”

“Well, yeah, but you kinda expect God to have an older vocabulary, because He's eternal and all that.”

Capt. R.E. Ludlow fell out laughing at his two grandsons five-year-old R.E. Ludlow III, also known as Lil' Robert, and ten-year-old Andrew Ludlow, still sitting over his King James Version of the Bible and trying to work out their souls' salvation.

“I knew it was time for me to invest in an English Standard Version,” he said to Mrs. Ludlow as he broke out laughing, “but this is what the Bible also calls, 'the fullness of time'!”

“Yeah, also translated as you should have done it a long time ago,” Mrs. Ludlow said, and enjoyed watching her husband fall out laughing again. “How are we going to continue to have two kids born in the 21st century thinking God talks like Shakespeare?”

“First of all, Thalia, they are going to think Shakespeare talks like God – and – never mind, that is no better! Let me just go order an ESV now so they can know God can speak to them right where they are!” Capt. Ludlow said as he went away still laughing.
