When I was younger, I used to think that being a quiet person or an introvert means you're not friendly, social, accommodating or that you're a passive individual. But as I grew older I realized that sometimes, it's not even about being an introvert or an extrovert. It's about value alignment, and that brings us to the subject of compatibility and like-mindedness.
They're people you meet for the first time, and it seems you've known them before that time. You could talk to them all day without feeling burn out, drained or exhausted. And you could still be longing for more hours with them.
And they're others, who drain you, and leave you overwhelmed and exhausted, like you've been doing a lot of work. You would just be looking for an excuse to end the conversation, because you're not feeling it.
It's the question of compatibility and like-mindedness.
Talking to people who have the same values as you is easier than talking to individuals whose values and yours do not align
A quiet person can be loud around someone, and stay quiet around another.
And oh, I'm not saying people should not talk to people who have different perspective on things, and I don't mean that people with like-minds do not have misunderstandings or there won't be a time when they just want to keep to themselves, or a tough time in their relationships. These situations are inevitable in human relationships, and no matter how good a relationship is there would always be a misunderstanding. But when it happens, settling scores won't be much of a problem for people who are like-minded, and understand each other. Quarrels don't linger because their values align.
But people who do not understand themselves are likely to break off quickly in every aspect of human relationships because of little misunderstandings.
Realistically, there are people you easily warm up to, and there are people you might find a bit uncomfortable around. It does not mean they're bad people, and it does not sometimes mean you're an introvert. Your energy doesn't match, and that's okay.
