I know someone who has some of the world's most valuable skills and talent, they've been like that for a while, for a long time, and they're still as broke.
So I took some time to analyse why this is so, and after my analysis I discovered that he was complacent, lacks bravery and courage, lacks the spirit for hustling
He's always waiting for the opportunities to come to him, instead of going to it, he finds it difficult to spot what's valuable and can easily become life-changing, he gives up too easily, he prioritizes the wrong things, he lacks the right discipline, wants to please everyone, doesn't understand the essence of locking in properly, and finds it difficult to be his own man.
Howbeit, he's the most gifted person I've ever known when it comes to skills and excellence, and his peer with not up to 25% of his abilities owns their own businesses and cars and even though he was one of the reasons why these people's business became very big, he still struggles at the bottom of the barrel.
It's why I've come to the conclusion that you can have all the skills and excellence to make it big, but if you don't have the right values and scope, you'll definitely not make it. While "talent is not enough" feels like a cliche, I think it's actually one of the best life lessons that people do not pay attention to.
For example, I can't consider myself to be talent and have some of the skills that puts you among the top 1% of the most skilled people on earth and still be broke. It feels horrible to even imagine it, but we fail to understand that people can have all it takes but lacks the management skills to turn these raws skills into profitable results.
A lot of people don't know that there are values that's required to turn potentials to results, and these values might not be monetizable on their own, but you'll need them to make a meaning of the abilities to already have.
For example, the ability to control one's sexual Impulse is one capability that looks really underrated but can actually help one. For example, I experienced losses and failures because it happened to me too.
One's ability to persevere and keep working hard even though there are no results is another ability.
For example, consistency and perseverance has paid off for me multiple times, especially because I didn't give up on a venture very early, it has happened to me so many times which makes me conclude that having the discipline for consistency is a value a skillful person needs in life.
For me, I don't know how to tell a person that they give up easily, or that they don't have the right values, I simply just let them be, because I think the biggest motivations to force change in people is to let their own person challenges to do the talking.
I have a lot of values as a person and cultivating this values is how I live life.
A lot of people have the potential to be bigger, better, they can easily become the best version of themselves just by polishing themselves to have the best values. Some of the things we often neglect are what can potentially elevate us.
You might be surprised that the difference between two people might just be that one person gave up easily and the other person chose to continue putting in effort.
It doesn't matter if the first person who gave up us is gifted and talented, the fact that they gave up means that even the "un-gifed" person gets to make it in life, even though they don't really have enough talents and skills.
Also, I've come to the conclusion that talented people can die with their talent not being useful to them, and this is because they didn't fine-tune themselves enough for that talent to become useful to them.
The world currently rewards talented people and untalented people equally, especially if the latter shows hunger and passion for success. You cannot stand out by being ordinary, you need to be distinctive in your approach and hunger, and even though you have the best skills in the world if you cannot work hard enough to put this abilities out there, then you'll remain the same.
In reality, life will never reward you if you don't have enough good values that suits survivability in this modern era, gifts are enablements that can only help you, they won't bring the desired results.
At some point in my life, I wish I had some super abilities, a good health, maybe live in a better country where I can get better enablements, or a place where I curiosity or hustle spirit meets countless opportunities.
It's no longer about having the skills or capabilities, it's more about how hungry you are, how much you're willing to give, how shameless you're willing to become. The world don't reward people who don't want to go the extra mile anymore, it's a race and you need to run it.
