There are times in life when things don’t just go wrong… they feel heavy. Like everything is happening at once. You try to stay strong, but inside, you’re tired. I’ve had moments like that, where I didn’t even know what to do next, just moving through the day without clear direction.
In those times, I used to think I needed a big solution. Something that would fix everything at once. But life doesn’t always work like that. My parents never gave me big complicated advice. They always kept it simple, sometimes too simple for me to take seriously back then.
My mother would say, “Just get through today first.” At first, I didn’t like that kind of advice. It felt small compared to my problems. But later I realized there is wisdom in it. When everything feels too much, focusing on one day, even one hour, can help you breathe a little.
Another thing I’ve learned is to accept that it’s okay not to be okay all the time. I used to fight my feelings, trying to act strong even when I was breaking inside. But that only made things worse. My father once told me, “Strength is not pretending, it’s standing even when you feel weak.” That stayed with me.
During hard times, I also try to reduce noise. Too many opinions, too many comparisons, too much thinking. It can make things heavier. Sometimes, sitting quietly, even for a few minutes, helps clear the mind. Not completely, but enough to continue.
I’ve also seen the value of small actions. When life feels stuck, doing something small, cleaning, writing, talking to someone you trust, can slowly shift your mood. It doesn’t solve everything, but it reminds you that you’re still moving.
Faith also plays a role for me. Not in a perfect way, but in a simple belief that things can change. That this moment is not the final story. My parents always believed that tough times don’t stay forever, and I hold on to that when things feel uncertain.
Hardship doesn’t come with clear instructions. Everyone handles it differently. But one thing I know now is this, you don’t need to have everything figured out. Sometimes, just not giving up is already enough.
And somehow, step by step, things begin to feel lighter again.
