The rhododendrons are beautiful in Tilgate Park this year! As I passed through today on a cycle ride, I spotted this huge red coloured tree with flowers all over, hanging down.
It was a good opportunity for a few photos.
I continued on my way through the park, on my way out into the wider forest area where it was very quiet. Not a soul to be seen . Probably because it was threatening to rain! I did feel a few drops of the wet stuff as I was riding.
A short but steep hill next to the Nature Centre was my first challenge. Then, along a dark path under the trees. It looks quite bright in my pictures, but this was very dark, or was it my sunglasses? 馃槄
Finally, out into the deep forest. Up Cowdray Hill, and out towards Worth Abbey. The temperature was perfect for this type of ride. It felt slightly chilly until I warmed up, but I soon felt very comfortable.
After a short stop for some refreshments, I carried on, now downhill again, turning back towards Tilgate Park.
Once back in Tilgate Park, I made my way to the main car park where I noticed a sign about Dinosaurs in the Park. A fun thing for the family is being set up, and they have fenched off a large part of the woods for this event.
Todays ride, 13陆 miles. Just a maintaining fitness level ride which is just what I needed.
