A rare sight to see by chance but a beautiful group of deer happened to be crossing a field between my hometown and the next which is about eight miles away.
I am used to seeing them quite often while out mountain biking in the woods but not out in the open like this.
They looked nervous and spotted me even though I was behind a hedgerow. They did not hang around for long, as per usual with this shy creature and were soon gone.
A pleasant surprise to see.
