Hola a todos en la comunidad.

Pasado

Hello everyone in the community.

Past

These were the expectant times of COVID. A global time in which practically all of humanity was surrounded by anguish and panic in the face of a devastating pandemic.

Two masks

A woman who is a little advanced in age, over fifty years old, arrives at the artist's studio to commission an affair. He was not clear about the request and she explained to him that she wanted a scene in which a not so young and somewhat chubby woman appears tenderly lying on the chest of a man also in his fifties, but a little younger than the female.

the.scene

These were the times of COVID and a small man, in his sixties, was walking through the tobacco fields looking for someone to employ him as a day laborer, with the pretext of taking a vacation and breaking with the work routine of his painting workshop. A social mask to hide the true reason: a precarious state of economic solvency. Another deeper reason: it's hitting rock bottom.

For two consecutive days, he returns home without achieving his goal. The work in the fields is hard and they hardly employ an artist who has surely not bended his back beyond the action of picking up a brush on the floor of his studio.

On the third day, he is employed.

The other scene

Look, I'm going to be honest with you, the woman tells the artist, so you can understand what I want. I am in a relationship with a man a little younger than me, and I am delirious and want something that will perpetuate this feeling. I want her to be me, but without being, and for him to be too. Without being.
A familiar mask.

These were difficult times and the artist felt that, while the COVID virus was approaching and cornering society, another virus, perhaps more terrible, was rapidly approaching his economy: the virus of scarcity. The art market, the serious one and the sales, which were already contributing very little, were practically closed, and the time to hit rock bottom was near.

The artist, with tired and sore hands, sleepy eyes from the early mornings to attend to the daily task, puts shapes and colors to the dream of his client in love. It was his first escape valve in the face of his economic situation.

From that commission, the artist began to receive more commissions. The satisfied client lovingly guarded her idyll while she lived, rather she dreamed of her love relationship from a distance.

COVID, or COVID happened, and those and other things happened.

*A gift that hurts

Since we can remember, we have the perception that in general, the gifts given to us are things that create joy and gratitude in us, since what comes free of charge from another person carries implicit feelings of affection. Honey, love etc. At least that's a fairly common perception.

Present

But these days, I was able to see firsthand that a gift can also arrive loaded with other feelings and produce the opposite effect to what we are accustomed to.

I was walking in the afternoon along one of the streets of the town and the lady who was sitting in a doorway opposite her house, after greeting me affectionately as she almost always does, asked me to stop while she hurriedly entered her house and returned with a roll of cardboard in her hand. his hand. There was a strange glow on his face. I took out my cell phone because I already knew what it was about, and she, seeing my intention, told me that it was not so that I could take a photo of her as I had asked her before, but that she was giving it to me as a gift.

I, honestly, was paralyzed, because that lady who a few years ago turned me into her confidant by carrying out a work for her love affair, which had its financial cost, now returns it to me in the form of a gift.

I quickly realized that more than a gesture of offering, she was getting rid of something that was tearing her up inside. And I knew it when, not knowing what to do at that moment, I told him that what he had experienced was beautiful. And that I remembered his story every moment because the experiences, as if cloned, and like themes of a common tree, reappear from time to time.

But the greatest understanding of his case was when he reaffirmed to me that yes, it was nice despite (making parallel movements with the index fingers of each hand) not having specified the relationship.

The face, like a mask of frustration, was accompanied by a pair of glassy eyes, like when tears ask permission to come out and help relieve a blockage in the chest.

I understood that she had also understood that the impossible, due to the circumstances that only she knows, cut short her last possibility of proving to herself that it was possible to love and let herself be loved over the barriers of traditions and programming.

I know that life has three planes to build tangible and intangible realities, and she, her dream. His aspiration became utopia and he remained on the intermediate plane: The energies orbit without finding a dense body where they can express all their power; a fertile land to grow.

I looked in dismay at this woman and looked back at me. I looked at the three planes: Psychic, Energetic and Dense, and gave myself a self-confidential wink. Like someone taking a selfie on graduation day. But I also looked at this one who made the effort, but didn't graduate. I nervously turned the roll of cardboard with the painted thread in my hand, and more thoughtful than grateful, I took it to my studio, to the place where one day, in times of pandemic, it came out.

I>t may not be a great work, but it has within it the memory of a woman who, although she did not manage to achieve it, understood that age does not count nor is it a limit when what counts is love. That of sore hands painting after hard work in the field. And the certainty of another story that did not stay at the limit and that did transcend all planes: my story.
Which!?

Don't worry, this is not counted.

But read, I assure you that I would not like to receive more gifts that contain pain.

Thanks for joining me.
