Recently, one of our supporter has withdrawn their delegation to the proxy vote. What's left in the proxy account are also powering down. This reminds me of an incident happened to myself a year ago.

Anyone recall what was the market price back in December 2017? It was so easy to fetch 10$ a post. Even my tiny 100sp can vote for a few ¢ due to SBD price very high. That time, people are shouting saying Steem is not catching up at $2 O N L Y! Yeah, it was $2 only back then.

As nobody expecting, Steem price shoot right up after retracement of BTC! All the way to the moon, sitting right at $8.19 on the 3rd of January. As an ordinary person, seeing my tiny 200sp suddenly became $1600, automatically my mind being bent. Why not I cash out first? This could be once in a life time!

And, begin the lengthy Power Down process whilst I'm writing and meeting people. Go around showing my account value to people. As soon as I notice, the account value shrunk not only by half, and half of that again, and again, and again. By April of 2018, power down completed. I remember I went for a meet up in Subway to introduce Steem to some professional, I was so shy to even tell my account has 400sp, but that only worth some $500. One of them met me in January, my account value was way bigger than what I show him in April.

In May, I took a flight to Bali, for a business trip. I decided, the "money" is just way too small to take them out. Those Steems are my hard work, my blood and tears, many sleepless nights. Why would I sell them off for few hundred dollars? Immediately after I power up, I saw my upvote become few ¢ again!

I know it's not any thing to shout about, but from there onwards, I realized Steem is not money. It's an asset. Just like a house. You can own a house, and if you need to live in it, you'll have to do so. You may not feel the need when you have it, because we, human take things for granted all the time. When you desperately need to cash, going to sell the house, the buyer always showed up with the wrong price you asked for. When you think the price too low, you'd probably say, fuck this shit not worth it! You torn down the sales contract, go back to the house and continue live through this economy turmoil.

After sometime, things back to normal. The pricing of houses become stable again. You look back to the days when you desperately wanted to sell the damn house, you felt relief that the sales didn't happen.

Again, Steem is not money. It's an asset. I don't know about you, but that's what it appears to me. If you decided today is the day, you wanna put a stop to all this nonsense, fine. Make sure you stop using the asset. Move out of the wallet don't ever look back. Whatever price I offer you, sell them all to me!
