It was a busy day after I had a very serious food poisoning. The work in the office no one taking care of, and I had to triple my effort in clearing up stuff. So happened, @positivesteem text me, saying that he's currently in town. As old time fellow #teammalaysia member, how can I NOT meet him up? Moreover, it's about time to eat since I didn't manage to keep food during the food poisoning, I literally vomit my brains out.
We didn't put much consideration on the timing, decided to meet up that evening. For a brief moment, I was still worrying of my health status. Apparently, I'm a little over worried. The medicine work just like it's promised. I might not be 100%, but at least I don't puke the whole day at work.
Initially, I was going to make this food trip an opportunity to collect information for a food post, but then the conversation gotten interesting and we're too busy talking about some old time stuff and also crypto future. Totally omitted the need to cover more information about the restaurant other than these few photographs.
Restaurant situated at the top floor of Mid Valley Megamall. I took some picture of this "dead place" during the pandemic lockdown, and it's much more happening now. Restaurant is some old school Hong Kong style fusioned restaurant. Good thing is, I'm sure it will have something for my weak stomach. Imagine if we go for BBQ buffet ๐คฃ I will probably have to take medical leave for the rest off the week!
Charles got himself a plate of dried one ton (wan tan) noodle. I didn't try it, perhaps will leave this portion of the food review by himself. Wan Tan is the meat dumpling, normally if the noodle served with soup, the Wan Tan is a normal dumpling. If the noodle being served dry, them the Wan Tan will be deep fried.
I got myself a set of scrambled egg and toast bread. I wasn't expect much from fusion restaurant, but the scramble egg is surprisingly fluffy! It wasn't too salty and the bread is nicely toasted. Just nice that the surface has a touch of crunch, but inside of the bread remained soft. Was a perfect breakfast for me, except this is the dinner for my upset stomach.
Charles got himself a red bean paste with Tangyuan dessert, you know 2 ball inside the soup. Usually during the year end(3 days from Christmas day), Chinese will make these soup balls. Round shape in Chinese meaning "complete", as an official closing for the year and gather the family to celebrate for winter solstice. Once again, I will leave the taste test portion with Charles and hopefully he will be able to find time to describe about it.
I ordered a bowl of black sesame paste dessert. I believe this is probably a wise choice for my weak stomach, however it was a bad idea for someone who have a sweet tooth like me. The sesame paste was a little overcooked, probably burnt. It has a pretty strong char taste to it, perhaps it can act liked a charcoal pill for my stomach ๐คฃ I did tried to drink it up, after the few spoon and decided to put it down. I just couldn't force myself anymore or I'm gonna puke again.
Nevertheless, it was a marvelous company to have a short conversation and dinner with Charles. We had a short walk, bought some chocolate before I proceed to sent him to his suite with my car.
