Type. I am thinking of type like in typewriter. The thing is that the typewriter died out with the word processor software with the common computer.
Back in the mid 1970's I took a typewriter class in high school. I thought it would be useful later in life. The typewriting class was kind of fun, well only cause one of the high school cheer leaders was sitting in the chair in front of me. I guess I had a crush on her, but was to shy to talk. Well, I would say, Good Morning or Hello to her, but that is all.
The class it self? Well, I wasn't so good at it. Well I would get 40 words per minute with 40 errors. Yes, that is bad.
Well, I would enter the telephone company in later part of 1979. In those days there were no computers that we worked on. No, we worked with very large books with numbers on them.
Then in 1982, they told us that we would be using computers to find the information that we would normally get from our very large books that were attached to rails at our cubical/desk situation.
I thought that the computer couldn't do what we did with the books, but I was wrong, it did work out. The thing was is that we didn't get a QWERTY type keyboard, no, cause of some weird contract we couldn't be paid as regular typists so we were given the ABC type of keyboard, so I had to relearn and even come up with different keying strategies.
Then after years of getting used to it that way, they then gave us the common QWERTY type keyboard and with frustration I had to relearn the QWERTY keyboard and of course the customer would wonder why I wasn't getting the information fast to them as I usually do. Talk about the brain rewiring itself.
So I did get it back with some frustration, then I even got a modern computer for myself, well, modern for that time, in 1997. That was before Youtube and Google.
I did like typing into the word processor program. Well, I worked with many over the years. I do like the Microsoft Word. On the computer I am now using LibreOffice Writer. It works pretty good and I like it cause it is free.
I was thinking of buying an old out dated 2007 Office software from ebay. I might do that as my text to speech program will work with Microsoft Word, but not with LibreOffice Writer.
I still call keying in words, typing in words as time as that is what I used to call it and I did work with a typewriter in my youth. Now days the youth might not even relate to a typewriter, unless they seen them in the old movies.
My mom used to have an old Underwood Typewriter. I used to practice on it when I was a kid. Mom doesn't have that typewriter anymore. Things break and if they survive all those years and decades they might even be sold as an antique.
Well, I am glad of my years and decades on the keyboard. I have a brother and a friend that doesn't type at all, and if they need something typed, they come to me, and ask me to type out something.
Well, I really just type it out into my word processor then have it printed out. It is much easier that way.
Of course I like typing into my Hive.blog as my typing experience does payoff for that.
Let's end with a scripture, as it is written, Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever: Isaiah 30:8.
