As I write Steem is at $3.06. I like to keep my Steem as Steem Power so to get the influence and sure I may cash out one of these days, but not today.
You see, I still think Steem can go to a thousand dollars a coin. Sure I may be wrong, but what if I am right?
You probably seen John McAfee say that he predicts Bitcoin to be at a million dollars by the end of 2020.
Do you remember when Bitcoin was as high as $19,343.04 on December 16, 2017? Well, it wasn't too long after that, that Steem was as high as $7.31 on January 3, 2018.
So if John McAfee is right and Bitcoin goes as high as one million dollars then seeing Steem go as high as one thousand dollars around that same time is foreseeable.
I do think John McAfee can be right, but what if he is wrong in timing? To me it is not if Bitcoin will go to a million dollars, but when Bitcoin will go to a million dollars.
Even if it takes ten or twenty years it will happen and maybe even sooner. So when that time does come sooner or later I believe Steem will go to a thousand dollars a coin.
Even if you need that cash it may be wise to put even a percentage of your rewards away as Steem Power for that eventual day.
The main reason I like to put away my rewards as Steem Power is for the influence.
Another reason for me to keep my rewards as Steem Power is that it is not so easy to just hack my wallet and steal all my Steem Power at one time.
You see, it is not possible for someone to hack it at one time, they would have to take it in payments even if they do figure out the pass word. So there is still time to fix it before it is all gone.
I see it as a safety device and if my Steem Power is getting smaller and smaller, then I will be able to see it happening and can act accordingly.
