Of course the pecans are not ready, but they will be ready in its time. They are looking bigger all the time. I notice them today as I was mowing Mom's backyard and decided to pull out my Moto G and take a picture.
It is always good to eat nuts as they have the good fats. One of the good fats that I like to eat from nuts is from the coconut. I never used to think of coconuts as nuts since they are so big.
Yes not all nuts are small, like the pecan nut. I will admit I do have a hard time cracking these open as they are smaller than a walnut which to me is easier to crack open.
So I guess I never got the right way of cracking open the pecan, but I do the best I can. If I can't open it or some just crumbles I will throw them in the fire.
Yes, nuts do burn well. Even the shells burn well. I know it is still summer and yes, still hot, but that will go away after awhile as Autumn is approaching and it will get cooler. My mom does like to shell nuts, like walnuts and she does give me the shells and I do burn them. Actually walnut shells burn pretty good.
Then when winter comes it will be pretty cold, yep that will be the time when I just keep my jacket on all day long.
This winter I will be burning some oak firewood. It is all split and ready to go. That reminds me that I still have some other wood to split. I will probably get to it when it gets a little cooler. I don't like splitting wood in the hot sun.
I really like Autumn and Spring as I don't have to worry too much about using too much energy. Like right now in my computer room I have 4 fans going, one is a window fan. Maybe 4 fans is a little too much, but I like it, and it is better than using the air conditioner. I hardly ever use the air conditioner. Well, every time I use the air conditioner it always takes up too much energy and if you know me I really like to save money here and there.
So let's get back to the pecans. These are really good nuts. With important vitamins and minerals, even if you don't have a pecan tree in the backyard you can still purchase them a Costco and they will be shelled.
