Next Adventure: Ptarmigan Cirque! Day two of hiking. This is the gorgeous highway 40, which takes us to the hike, inside Kananaskis country, Alberta. Wow, the colours bursting off these trees was incredible. This particular area is straight south of the trans Canada highway #1. Yesterday’s hike to Eiffel Lake was not a complete success due to the mini-snow storm, so hoping today’s Next Adventure will be better, weather-wise. So as I drove further south, I noticed the temperature drop about 1° every 10 minutes or so. Not helpful. Good thing I’m dressed for the weather. What can you expect for the end of September anyways right? Being in the Canadian Rockies around this time of year can be a bit of a gamble. Best case scenario, clear blue skies and 10 to 15°C, worst case is a real snow storm. So far the weather is on the mediocre side. I’ll take it!
