With food imports shortage on the horizon, prices of food at eateries are steadily going up. Not that it hasn't been going up ever since I can remember, but this time it's gonna hit us hard and I feel many aren't prepared for what's about to happen.
Me and some friends went for lunch last Sunday after church to a new place called 'Soru Station'. Its a place that serves western and Malay fusion combos. It's quite a huge place as their location size is 2 rented lots.
I ordered their lamb chops set which comes with a side of fried rice with some beef, 2 scoops of mash potatoes and some pan fried bell peppers. The price of the meal was RM17 ($4 USD) which is super cheap considering that lamb prices are rocketing through the roof. After the meal arrived and I started digging into it then I realised why it was priced so cheap 馃槃
I got 3 pieces of lamb chop and they were literally a tenth of an inch thickness. On the menu, it did say it was 100g of meat. The mash potatoes seem scratch made and the portion of rice was huge. Looks like nowadays this is gonna be a new norm of food price to quality ratio as its the only logical way a business can make money.
It is a sad reality that most will be facing regardless whether willingly or unwillingly. As for me, I stand on God's word that He will provide in every situation. He is our Father that can and will provide 馃檶
