Hello friends! again here showing a little of one of the many things that we are passionate about, such as the drink called coffee. As I commented in the previous video, once you do the roasting of a representative sample of the lot to capture the behavior in a graph (temperature vs. time) we went to the factory. Here we can add the coffee to the toaster, approximately there is in that cooling tray about 450kg. The procedure in this case is practically the same as in the laboratory toaster, unlike here everything is bigger, heavier, with higher noise and temperature.
The real roasting process takes place in the cylinder of the machine, in this video it is observed how the roasted coffee comes out of the machine and falls on a macro cooling tray, here the temperature is reduced from about 200 ° C to 38 ° C in about 5 minutes. Also, as the coffee beans cool down, they are cleaned and once they have cooled they are taken to the storage silo, where they are milled after about 8 hours and then packaged and distributed to stores.
If I'm honest, even though these big machines amaze and like to be something out of the ordinary, personally I like to roast coffee on a small scale and very hand-crafted, giving my personal touch as coffee roaster and that the consumer Tell me how you like coffee, talking about roasting profiles and granulometry of grinding.
