Checking Out This New H Mart Korean Supermarket in Toronto/North York
Hi there. I check out this new H Mart Korean supermarket in the North York area of Toronto. I share my findings.
This new HMart had its grand opening on September 17, 2026.

About H-Mart
H-Mart is an American chain of Asian supermarkets. These supermarkets carry mostly Korean products with some Chinese and Japanese products.
In the downtown Toronto area, the H-Marts are not very big. They are convienience store sized and located on a busy streets. This new H-Mart is pretty big in size and is on the first floor of an apartment.

Open all 365 days in the year, 7AM to 11PM.
When you enter, there is a big Hello Kitty statue to greet you. very colourful and cute.
On the left you have the checkout lanes and the first section on your right is the produce section.
From the outside, this supermarket does not look big. As you explore more inside, this place is quite big.
They do carry some Chinese food products. I think they have done their research and know that there are quite of few Chinese people in the area.
This HMart is located in Koreatown North. This area has a lot of Koreans as well as Chinese people and a fair bit of Persian residents.

This H-Mart location does have ready to go food. There is a sushi section and a French style Bakery. The baked goods from the bakery section look good. Prices are around 4 CAD to 7CAD, similar to pricing from Danish Pastry House.
Other Notes
HMart does have competition with Canadian-Asian supermarket T&T Supermarket. They are finishing their new store at North York Centre. This new T&T supermarket takes over a Loblaws western supermarket. Both Loblaws and T&T Supermarket have the same owner.
This new HMart location looks good. The residents near this place are lucky to have a nice supermarket nearby.
Store hours from 7AM to 11PM is big. Some people could visit HMart to get baked goods for breakfast and some could visit for late night eats and groceries.
