Cover images aren’t bad at all. If I’m not using an original, I’m using one that’s legal from one of the copyright free sites: Google Pixabay, Unsplash, and DuckDuckGo Pexels—three.

I chose to use the one you just clicked on as an example because it’s large and has the invisible white background. Invisible backgrounds and loud color make good clickbait. Since this one’s about the cover image, it only made sense to go big and bright with the..

You can do that, too, color in a bunch of the teeth, when it’s copyright free. Color the teeth, draw a line right down the middle of it if you want, color half of the skull, put a frame around it—totally legal.

Just list

..the credits and you can color in the whole thing if you feel like it, put your name on it, put font anywhere on it, etc, just mention where you got it. It doesn’t have to be directly under the image like I did, either, it can be in the credits at the bottom, middle, location isn’t important—acknowledgement is.

It doesn’t have to say “cover image,” it can say anything, it can be a whole sentence and _{size doesn’t matter,} either—acknowledgement does. Thank you @puravidaville!

Piece 0 cake compared to titles and opening sentences, especially opening sentences! I’ve spent so much time arranging, rearranging and erasing those things, just to start over again, I probably shouldn’t be admitting it, and those are nothing compared to the post button—post buttons are the worst! Cover images, not bad at all, they’re actually fun...
