I have just cast my support for the Ecency DHF proposal, and honestly, it was an easy decision for me to make.
Ecency has been one of my favorite apps developed within the Hive ecosystem. It has been around for such a long time, continuously serving users, improving the frontend experience, and supporting the community in many ways. For me, Ecency is not just another Hive app. I would say it is one of the pillars that helped shape Hive into what it is today.
When we talk about Hive, we often focus on the blockchain itself, the token price, the rewards, or the technology behind it. But sometimes, we forget that the actual experience of using Hive depends heavily on the frontends and tools built on top of it. Without these frontends, our view of Hive would be very different from how we experience it today on our blog pages, feeds, wallets, and communities.
That is why I believe platforms like Ecency, PeakD, Hive.blog, and other Hive frontends play such an important role. They make Hive relatable. They make it usable. They give shape and personality to what would otherwise just be blockchain data. In a way, these frontends are the faces of Hive, and we need more of them if we want the ecosystem to remain decentralized and welcoming to different kinds of users.
Ecency, in particular, has done a lot more than simply provide a blogging interface. If you observe closely, the team has contributed to the decentralization and sustainability of Hive in several ways. They developed apps for users, curated content to motivate the community, and even set up their own Witness node to help secure and sustain the blockchain. That kind of contribution deserves recognition.
For me, supporting the Ecency proposal is not just about supporting an app. It is about supporting a team that has consistently shown up for Hive.
Of course, I know that my vote is not very strong compared to bigger stakeholders. But still, every vote counts. That is one of the beautiful things about Hive governance. Even small users like me can participate and express support for projects that we believe are valuable to the ecosystem. It may not be a huge vote, but it is still my way of saying that I appreciate what the Ecency team has done and what they continue to build.
At the moment, the Ecency team needs support to tap into the DHF so they can keep developing the frontend and improving the overall Hive experience for users like us. I think this is important because development does not happen for free. Behind every feature, bug fix, mobile update, server improvement, and user experience upgrade, there are real people spending time, energy, and resources to make things work.
And as users, we benefit from that work every day.
One of the things I like most about Ecency is the Ecency Points system. I think it is a genius idea because it turns activity into a gamified and rewarding experience. Want to earn more points? Post more. Comment more. Engage more. Interact with other users. Support others. Be active.
It sounds simple, but it actually encourages the kind of behavior that Hive needs more of. It motivates users to connect with one another instead of just posting and leaving. It helps make Hive feel alive. For a social blockchain, that matters a lot.
Ecency Points may not look like a big thing at first, but I believe they add another layer of motivation to the user journey. They reward consistency, engagement, and participation. They also create additional use cases through boosting posts, getting delegations, and increasing visibility. These are small features, but they can make a big difference, especially for users who are still growing their accounts.
This is why I believe Ecency deserves community support.
If we want Hive to grow, we need strong frontends. We need different entry points for different users. Some people may prefer PeakD. Some may prefer InLeo. Some may find Ecency easier and more enjoyable. That diversity is a strength because it prevents Hive from depending on a single interface or a single team.
We need more faces of Hive to encourage more people to join.
So yes, I gladly supported the Ecency DHF proposal. I encourage others to take a look at it as well and consider supporting the team. If you have used Ecency, earned Ecency Points, posted through the app, engaged through Waves, boosted a post, or benefited from their curation, then you already know the value they bring.
