Hey hey, Hive Town residents!!! 🐝
Today, I came across some exciting news from the mayor himself, 
This is exactly what I've been waiting for since the Halloween event. I had such a great time participating in that event that I've been looking forward to the next one ever since. And now, we finally have another reason to spend more time exploring Hive Town!
The contest is running until November 9, which means we only have a few days to compete. That's quite a short period, but I think it makes the competition even more exciting. Let's go!!!
Introducing Honey Tower! 🍯
The highlight of this event is a newly introduced game called Honey Tower, another wonderful addition to the collection of quality games available in Hive Town.
To be honest, I haven't played this type of game before, so I was quite thrilled to give it a try. I wasn't expecting to be particularly good at it, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't give my best effort to achieve a decent score, right? LOL!
What's even more exciting is that there are three competition categories:
- Highest Tower
- Best Combo
- Best Promoter
And here's the best part... there will be three winners for EACH category!!!
That's nine winning spots across the three categories! Of course, the competition won't be easy, especially with some highly skilled players already participating. However, I think this encourages everyone to practice, improve their skills, and focus on whichever category suits them best.
For this post, let me share my Day 1 experience playing Honey Tower!
My First Experience Playing Honey Tower
First of all, I want to appreciate the design of this game. The visual elements are beautifully made, from the honey-themed slabs to the colorful backgrounds and charming environments.
I particularly like how the game connects with the overall theme of Hive Town. Everything feels consistent with the fantasy-style environment that
The gameplay itself is surprisingly simple. All you need to do is stack the moving honey and cake slabs on top of one another, building your tower as high as possible.
Sounds easy, right?
Well... that's what I thought too! LOL!
The challenge comes from the movement and changing speed of the slabs as your tower grows taller. You need to time every placement carefully because even a slight mistake can make your next move more difficult.
I noticed that the higher I climbed, the more challenging the timing became. The speed transitions definitely tested my concentration, and I sometimes ended up making mistakes when I thought I had already figured out the rhythm.
On the positive side, the game can be played in short sessions, making it perfect for someone who only has a few minutes to spare. Although, once you start chasing your personal record, those few minutes can easily turn into a much longer gaming session! Hehehe.
My Day 1 Results!
After several attempts, I finally managed to reach a personal best of 56 floors in the Highest Tower category!
That placed me in 5th position on the leaderboard when I checked. Not bad for a beginner, right? 😁
For the Best Combo category, I managed to achieve a maximum combo of ×6, which placed me in 8th position.
Of course, these scores are still far from the top competitors. Some players have already built towers exceeding 150 floors, while the leading combo score has reached ×19!
So there's definitely plenty of room for improvement.
So far, I've only managed to reach the blueberry-themed level, and I'm curious to discover what other designs and challenges are waiting further up the tower.
The Competition Has Just Begun!
Fortunately, this event falls during the long weekend, which means I have more free time to practice and hopefully improve my scores before the contest ends.
I think that's the fun part of participating in events like this. It's not just about winning prizes but also about challenging ourselves and enjoying the experience with fellow Hive Town residents.
I'm also happy to see more games being introduced to Hive Town. In my opinion, these activities add another layer of entertainment and community engagement to the Hive ecosystem.
And who knows? Maybe with enough practice, I'll manage to secure one of those top three spots before November 9!
For now, I'm quite satisfied with my progress, but I'm definitely not stopping at 56 floors. There's still a taller tower to build and a better combo to achieve!
