Hey everyone! So, I finally wrapped up my Holozing artwork today, and let me tell you, my Sunday just got a whole lot more productive. Now, about my fanart; this time, I got inspired by one of the freshly revealed Dragon Holomon. I went with the ice-type dragon because, well, he’s just too cool to pass up. Since he doesn’t have a name yet, I decided to call him "Glaccy" (yup, that's my entry for the contest).
I mean, how could I not? He’s literally coooool and those spiky, ice-like horns are straight-up dope.
For my fan art, I decided to make a cute little dragon version. Why? Because I kinda wanted to use it as my profile pic too, lol. So, here’s the final result!

Let’s break it down: I kicked things off with a sketch to get a feel for the dragon’s vibe and figure out the proportions. My trick? I slapped on a grey color for the background right from the start, just to keep my screen from blinding me... gotta take care of those eyes!
Next up, I fine-tuned the outlines to lock in the overall look of the character. Once that was on point, I painted the base color—light blue, of course.
Then, it was all about getting the color effects just right. I focused on the highlights and shading for the dragon’s head first. After that, I moved on to the body, doing the same.
I switched things up this time, too. Instead of bouncing back and forth, I made sure the dragon was fully done before I tackled the background.
And now that I’m happy with how the character turned out, I added the background colors to wrap things up.
Finally, I sprinkled in the details for the foreground and background elements, and voilà—here’s the finished piece!
I think I’m finally getting the hang of my drawing tablet and discovering new ways to create my art. I’m hoping to develop my style even more and maybe speed up my process a bit. Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed checking out my work today. Catch you later!
