Hello everyone! I'm back with another simple adventure around my city, Singapore! Tonight, I decided to visit the Geylang Bahru area for a relaxing photo walk and, of course, to enjoy a nice and satisfying dinner at the nearby food centre.

If you remember, about two weeks ago, I shared my cycling adventure around Geylang Bahru. During that time, my city was experiencing thick haze, which made the atmosphere look quite gloomy. The sky appeared almost completely white, and the buildings in my photos looked pale, as though there was fog covering the background.

Thankfully, things are looking much better now!

I'm really glad that the haze has finally cleared because I was quite worried when I heard the news that it could possibly last until December due to the prolonged drought. Fortunately, nature seems to have decided to give us some beautiful weather again!

Let me start by showing you some photos of the river and the surrounding neighborhood.

One thing that immediately caught my attention was the beautiful bluish color of the evening sky. This is actually one of my favorite times to take photos because of the interesting contrast between the cool blue atmosphere and the warm glow of the streetlights.

I really like this kind of lighting because it makes even ordinary streets and buildings look more interesting and beautiful!

Compared to the photos I took two weeks ago, the difference is quite noticeable. The sky looks clearer, the colors are more vibrant, and the overall atmosphere feels much more refreshing.

Although Geylang Bahru isn't exactly a famous tourist destination, I still enjoy exploring this neighborhood because of its relaxing city vibe. The combination of residential buildings, greenery, streets, and the peaceful river creates a pleasant environment for an evening walk.

Sometimes, you don't really need to visit fancy places to appreciate the beauty of your city. All it takes is good weather, a nice walking path, and a little curiosity to discover something interesting!

A Delicious Dinner at Geylang Bahru Food Centre!

After spending some time walking around and taking photos, I started feeling hungry. So, I decided to head straight to Geylang Bahru Food Centre for dinner!

I already had something in mind because I remembered a particular stall that I really enjoyed during my previous visits.

It's called Weng Fatt, a Chinese food stall that specializes in noodle dishes.

What I find interesting about this stall is that it has a relatively limited menu. However, I don't really see that as a disadvantage because I believe that focusing on fewer dishes can help maintain their quality.

Besides, the stall is operated by just one person, which makes the food preparation even more impressive!

For tonight's dinner, I ordered their La La Bee Hoon, which costs only SGD 6.50!

The dish comes with plenty of delicious ingredients, including La La clams, fish slices, scrambled egg, and a huge prawn. Everything is served with bee hoon noodles in a flavorful, comforting broth.

Just look at how generous the serving is!

For only SGD 6.50, I think this dish is incredibly satisfying. In fact, I personally feel that it's slightly underpriced considering the ingredients and the quality of the food.

This is one of the things that I really appreciate about Singapore's hawker food culture. You don't necessarily need to spend a lot of money to enjoy a delicious and satisfying meal!

A Simple Yet Wonderful Evening!

Overall, tonight's little adventure turned out to be a very enjoyable one. I got to appreciate the beautiful evening sky, capture some lovely photos of Geylang Bahru, and finish my walk with a satisfying dinner.

It's these simple experiences that remind me why I love wandering around my city. Even familiar places can feel refreshing when you visit them under different weather and lighting conditions.

I'm definitely looking forward to more evenings like this, especially now that the sky is looking beautiful again!

That's it for today's little adventure. Thank you for joining me, and I'll see you again on my next wandering adventure!

Cheers, and happy exploring!
