I don't know what it is with car batteries, but I have read a couple of posts lately and I had the same issue this morning. The funny thing is the car was fine yesterday and this morning nothing. I thought it could be the immobilizer playing up as we tried jumper leads and still there was nothing.
Battery is hidden under the fuse box on the right deep down in the engine compartment. terminals are on top but no battery.
A friend came over to help and he asked me where I has put the battery? When i told him I hadn't touched it and was waiting for him we went hunting. We could see the positive and negative terminals where you connect the jumper leads, but no battery was in sight. He reckoned it was the battery and nothing else. I suppose it is an easier cheaper fix than something major and it could have been worse.

When you have a Youtube video on how to change a battery you know this isn't normal.
I phoned a battery center this morning and they would come out and fit one for me. As soon as I said it was a Dodge there was a little hesitancy. The problem with this car is you can't see the battery in the engine bay. To get to it you have to remove the front wheel and the wheel lining as it is a bit of an afterthought. I think it is ridiculous that you have to do this to get at it.
The battery is on his left underneath the wheel arch. Look at the state of the old battery with the leaking acid.
Once the guy arrived from the battery shop he had the wheel off and wheel lining within 30 minutes and the state of the battery shocked me. The heads were corroded and covered in the white tell tale signs of acid and the steel brackets that hold the battery had been eaten in half. I would have noticed this if it was in the normal place when you open the bonnet or hood for our American friends.
The battery was in a bad way and I had no idea. The rods that keep it in place had been corroded and one was in half.
If you look at the car head on and imagine the front right panel and go to the front of the wheel arch and that is where this battery is. Not very obvious and why the battery centre was a little hesitant with the call out. It seems crazy that you have to jack the car up and remove so many things to remove the battery. Whoever designed this car I think forgot about the battery and a plan had to be hatched.
My day was ruined which left me spinning trying to deliver to one of the new clients I picked up last week. They don't want to hear about your problems and just expect the stock. It all ended well as I arrived at the clients business at around 3.30 pm ,so they were all smiles.
