Hello Hivers!

Back in June I said I was powering up to 100K HP this year — no ifs, no maybes. That post got some attention, so here's the part most people skip: the follow-up where you actually show your work.

It's been 8 weeks. Let me break it down.

The Numbers So Far

Everything here is straight off the chain — pull up my account history and check me.

  • Hive Power today: 58,269 HP — that's 58.3% of the way there
  • Powered up since the June post: 6,891 HIVE across 56 power-ups in 56 days
  • 54 of those 56 days had a power-up, including a streak of 52 days straight
  • Biggest single day: 4,062 HIVE on June 18
  • Average pace: ~123 HIVE per day

The number I care about most isn't the total — it's the streak. Some days it was 6 HIVE, some days it was 200. Doesn't matter. Miss one day and it gets real easy to miss two. The habit is the strategy.

So When Do I Actually Hit 100K?

Here's where I stop cheerleading and let the calculator talk.

Remaining: 100,000 58,269 = 41,731 HP
Current average pace: ~123 HIVE/day
Days at current pace: 41,731 / 123 = ~339 days

At my current pace, I hit 100K around July 2027. That's the honest math.

But I said this year. To land it by December 31:

Days left in 2026: ~145
Required pace: 41,731 / 145 = ~288 HIVE/day

That's 2.3x what I'm doing now. Steep? Yes. Impossible? Also no. Look at the numbers again — that one 4,062 HIVE day in June moved me further than a whole month of daily stacking. The pace isn't a flat line, it's a floor with spikes. The daily streak keeps the floor, and the plan for the back half of the year is more spikes: when bigger wins land, they get converted to HP instead of sitting liquid.

And HIVE is at ~$0.042 while I write this — cheaper than the ~$0.05 I called "buying conviction at a discount" back in June. The discount got better. My conviction didn't get worse.

The Builders Haven't Slowed Down

In the June post I said the energy was shifting and builders were still shipping. Two months later I have receipts. Look at what shipped across the ecosystem just this summer:

A huge thank you to everyone above for continuing to build through a nickel-priced market. That list is why I'm still here.

The Governance Conversation Is Heating Up

The other thing I'm watching closely — and honestly a big part of why the 100K goal exists — is that some genuinely important debates are happening on-chain right now:

Your vote is your autograph on the ledger of blockchain governance — I said that back in my witness voting guide and it's truer than ever. Taking part takes two minutes:

  1. Log into https://peakd.com/
  2. Witnesses: https://peakd.com/me/witnesses — check where your 30 votes are and whether those witnesses' HBD stance matches yours
  3. Proposals: https://peakd.com/proposals — vote for the infrastructure you actually use

This is what stake is for. Curation rewards are nice, but 100K HP is a governance-sized vote in every one of these conversations. That's the real reason the goal exists.

The Move, Restated

Powering up. Building. Staying. Voting. Same plan, now with a progress bar.

58% done. If the streak breaks before the next checkpoint, call me out on it.

Remember — this is just a gnome on the internet showing you his math. Do your own research, and don't take any of it as financial advice.
