Around 2 months ago, when I was still below 50K Hive Power and when the price of Hive reached under 0.04$, I started cost-averaging way up to 100k Hive Power with a weekly buy (Link). Sooner than anticipated, I reached that Milestone Today!!!
Hive Price !
The reason I started accumulating mostly was because I'm here for the long run (9+ years and going), I believe Hive will stay alive even if the price goes lower and I want to keep a sense of actually being invested in the platform. Also despite feeling a bit greedy thinking prices were going to to even lower, I still started buying and once the price went to 0.42$ or a bit higher, I fomo bought 17k Hive at once which right now I'm glad that I did. On the other hand, I was not going to buy above 0.05$ but still did this in the last couple smaller buys.
From the looks of it 0.03756$ was the bottom for Hive and the price now at 0.05762$ is 53% higher which is a decent increase but still nothing compared to the 0.5$ which it ranged around multiple times in the past. it kind of feels like the sentiment changed a bit toward more positive and I'm hoping the momentum has switched for a while so ne w people actually start flooding in.
I don't rule out for things to go lower again as there still isn't enough actual incentive for users to buy and power up Hive and it looks like there are still more funds going out compared to in.
The Accumulation
It was actually quite frustrating that Binance is no longer accessible in Europe due to the MICA nonsense. I had to use Simpleswap and Changenow to actually buy Hive also because the buy Hive option in the wallet which links to blocktrades is broken.
So it mainly was a matter of showing some consistency and making a small ~200$ buy of Hive weekly speeding this up by the 17k Fomo week. Near the end I slowed down a bit and for the last 800 Hive, I sold the Vouchers that I accumulated in Splinterlands which luckily were trading at a 'high price' to complete the goal. In total I accumulated around 50k Hive and Powered Up all of it to reach the magical 100k number!

Where To Go From Here...
At this point, I feel zero FOMO to buy more Hive, as the amount I have right now is more than enough to really feel invested in the platform and have enough influence. I also don't want to take stupid risks as I still believe elsewere there are investment opportunities that make way more sense. I really hope some things fundamentally change and improve here as it feels inevitable that a bigger pump eventually will see more big outflows.
Anyway, my intention is to just keep the 100k HP locked and in place for the long run and if there ever comes a time when Hive trades below 0.025$ or so, I will push forward to reach 200k. In case there would be a crazy pump and Hive goes above 0.25$, I will try to be smart and take a bit off the table even though I know when that happens all my other assets will have gone up equally and 25k will feel like nothing (Similar to what happened to Splinterlands when my assets were worth 80k)
My KE Ratio now is below 0.5, which means that I put about what I earned in total extra in on top so far. In case things would pump, the aim is to never go above 1 KE Ratio. I Also have no real intention or need to take funds out but will look for Hive Native projects to possibly delegate HP to above 100k or other assets in the Hive Ecoststem to invest in from the liquid earning that I'm getting.
Curation
With more Power comes a bit more responsibility, and I will keep looking for more accounts that meet the requirements (See Below) to possibly put on the Auto-Upvote list as I simply don't have time to do it manually each day. I also would love to delegate to a curation project that actually look at KE ratios when giving out upvotes.
Conclusion!
I'm glad that I took the opportunity of the really low Hive Price to cost-average buy myself up to 100k Hive Power and aim to just keep my blog which I enjoy making going for many years to come...
