Sometimes I think that the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us

Bill Watterson

When I look above into the sky, especially at night, I can't help not to wonder : what else is out there? Although I can partially agree with the quote and I find it hilariously sad, I believe that we humans don't even grasp the imensity of the Universe. And as much as I would like to state otherwise, there are no reasons why anyone would ever visit us. We are plagued by various diseases of the spirit and there will be decades until we will evolve on a spiritual level.

What screams the most "do not visit" is our wars. Between countries, economies, individuals. Our Rambo spirit is imprinted somehow within and we fail to shake off the negative influences. Being competitive is not bad, but doing it to hurt the other is not a sign of evolution. Look at us from above: tiny ants trying to fight, consumed by petty things and dramas, not knowing where to go and constantly trying to step over other ants. With or without intention. Who would ever want to descend in the middle of that? Of course that there are people who have made a great effort to see the human kind evolve, but how many of those there are left?

If someone would enter at random in the mind of a human, what thoughts would he find? Besides basic survival, on what do the majority of people think? Money, food, sex, status, power. How many thoughts per day are dedicated to spiritual growth, self analysis and the desire to leave the Planet better than you have found it? I can hear the cynics saying : we are all going to die, so who cares anyway? This is a typical avoidant answer to a rather significant issue of humanity: what do we leave behind? We have advanced a lot on a technical level, but we are miles away from grasping the brilliance of the human mind. We have the option to go within and stay with ourselves for a while. We avoid it. It is easier to be consumed by what happens in the outside world without realizing that the outside world is a reflection of the world we have within. In order to progress we need more than reaching to Mars and exploring space. We need more than fancy gadgets to ease our days. We need to focus on our mind.

I hope there will be times when humanity will explore the Universe and be humbled of how small we really are. We can't reach excellence on other planets if we haven't reached it on ours. We need to explore our mind and put it to great use for our personal growth. A society filled with people who are preocupied by themselves only will never reach high peaks. Just the lows of what could have been a gold mine...

Have a great day and toodle loo!
