I took these photos the first time it ever snowed in my town. I didn't have my Fuji then, just my old Nikon friend. He has been with me in my highs and lows and I could always count on it.
There was a certain atmosphere in the air. As usual I walk alone and just breathe in the air and sit with my thoughts. Although I felt quite melancholic in that day, there was a childish joy when I saw snow. Suddenly the fact that some things made me sad didn't matter anymore. My eyes were absorbing the snow's beauty. I just walked very slowly and admired every tiny thing around me. Just like a child would do. Nature always helped me to get back to myself and make peace with the things that happened/didn't happen in my life.
My biggest smile came when I saw this heart shaped puddle of snow sitting on the rocks. I smiled. I remembered how nice love is and that if we look around, we will notice things that remind us that love is the most beautiful feeling in the world. I rapidly took a photo, worried that it might melt soon. When I came back from my walk on the same path, it wasn't there anymore. Capturing the moment... That is what all of this is about.
***Love***
The fragility of plants crushed by the snow has something poetic about it. They are crushed while also protected. The fluffy snow covers it all until it will come back to life. Maybe this is how life works too. In moments of grief we all have our souls buried deep down in snow, trying to get shelter, trying to get protection and healing.
***Solitude***
Nature, if you look closer and be absorbed by it, can make you realize so many things about life itself. You just need silence and time on your own to realize that we all bloom in our own rythm in our own spring. And that winters always pass....
