Hello, awesome Hivers!
Today is #WednesdayWalk. But my walk today was done last Friday. That day my son asked me early in the afternoon to take him to meet a friend in a park in Caracas called El Laguito.
The park is quite far from home, and as on Fridays, there is usually a lot of traffic here, I thought I would take him and take the opportunity to do my walk for the #dreemportchallenge.
This way, I would avoid the worst traffic hours. And also have a nice walk in a nice place which I did indeed.
So after dropping my son off, I parked the car in one of the park's car parking areas. And I went for a walk along the long path that runs along the artificial lake.
The park is part of what is known as the Círculo Militar de Caracas, a multipurpose complex built in the 1950s for the use of the country's military. This particular park was opened to the general public a few years ago.
Within the park, there are also sports fields, a children's playground, a bowling alley, a swimming pool, a café and restaurant, and of course, the pleasant walkway along which I took my stroll.
There was a time when boats were for rent and paddling on the lake. This is no longer available.
The areas are well maintained. But the lake needs some urgent dredging.
My walk was quite pleasant despite the hot weather.
It wasn't crowded at all. I guess because it was Friday in the early afternoon.
Many people go to the park for picnics, some to lie on the grass by the lake and relax.
There were a few ducks and geese on the site. When I saw a woman with a little girl feeding one of the geese with bread, I immediately remembered 
It is a place worth visiting if you ever come to visit Caracas.
As it was so hot, on the way home, I went to a fruit shop to buy a Tizana (a refreshing drink made from small pieces of fruit), which I enjoyed as soon as I got home.
