Got a notification last night, it's my HIVE birthday! Been on the blockchain for four years now and somehow it simultaneously seems like much longer than that and nowhere near that long ago.
Joined at just the right time to watch it all go in the shitter. Price of steem was hovering around $3.50 after topping out at over $8, seemed like easy money to be made. Went about as well as 'easy money' always does... For some reason I still stuck around even after I figured out that wasn't going to be the case.
What a long strange trip it's been. Bidbots, crypto winter, a hostile takeover and a hard fork, it all adds up to a hell of a time! Or at least if you're still around after all that I ain't too worried about you going nowhere. Here's to the bad old days, may we meet with them no more!
Looking back, it's kinda amazing to see how far this has all come. I'd rather not look back at some of the photos I posted early on... Even without earning rewards I'd be fond of this place, don't know where else I'd meet a more interesting cast of characters. The rewards don't hurt though. I have no clue where in the hell this circus train is headed, but I'm staying onboard.
My train of thought is thoroughly derailed at this point but I do recall that I wanted to say thanks, for the inspiration, conversations, and general good times. Until next year, shoot first, ask questions later!
