Not long after I moved to Louisville in 2004, these "Keep Louisville Weird" stickers started popping up damn near everywhere. After more than twenty years of living here, I can safely say that this city needs no aid or encouragement in that department. I blame microplastics. Was out for a jaunt along Bardstown Road recently when I happened upon this first scene. Had passed this very spot maybe thirty minutes before and there was nothing on the low brick wall, on my return leg I discovered that it had somehow acquired the unlikely combination of an empty shot bottle of Fireball cinnamon whiskey, a tube of children's toothpaste, and a well worn Mickey Mouse puppet chilling on a bottle of water.
Y'all will have to bear with me, I got lots of questions and nary an answer. Could almost call the place Camelot, but the nearest castle is an hour's drive away in Versailles (not that one, the one pronounced Verr-SALES) and there's not enough coconuts in the city to get us there.
As buildings here get older and more subdivided, they sprout an ever growing collection of electric barnacles. If left untended, they can grow and combine with the window unit ACs that live in symbiosis with subdivision to form abstract sculptures.
Do you have prophetic Corollas where you live? It's not exactly the most uncommon thing to spot a vehicle adorned with DIY messages here, usually at least vaguely religious in nature, but this is the first time I've spotted a bilingual prophecymoblie. Who else read it "Jesus is preparese coming be proque cristo prepared viene" the first time around?
Nixon's the one! Ol' Tricky Dick may be dead and gone but Hillshire Farms remembers.
