Hey there! How's y'all a doing today? I've been a bit laid up and otherwise occupied so I haven't been around these parts much for the past little bit. Seems crypto is having a bit of a rough spell, this is starting to feel a bit familiar for some reason...
I've been submitting some of my protest photos to some of the contests I've posted about recently but I'm about tired of looking at them for a bit so here's a few from Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. It's been a couple years since I've been on a proper road trip and I'm getting the itch to go on one again.
The 100th anniversary of the Battle of Blair Mountain is coming up here towards the end of August and I'm thinking that calls for a bit of a trip. For those of you unfamiliar with it, the TLDR version: Largest labor uprising in the United States and largest armed uprising since the Civil War, when miners in West Virginia fought to unionize the coal mines. It lasted from August 25th to September 2nd, 1921, if you want to know more check out the wiki page.
There's going to be another March on Washington scheduled for the 28th of August, I want to go to both but I'm not sure how the logistics of that would work. Does tear gas smell the same no matter where you are? Asking for a friend of course...
It's a surprisingly cool day here today, only 84F (29C) so I think I'm going to take advantage of that and snap some photos. Anybody got them a nice road trip lined up? What about a book that you always take on road trip (besides a map)?
