Decided I needed a break from all the Ukraine stuff, figured the best thing to do was head back to the Rockies. It's still too cold for doing that just yet, in person at least. Fortunately, I have the

Play a train song! I recently got to spend some time shooting along a disused and apparently abandoned railroad. As I was editing the photos the words from the song that gives this post it's title came

Never volunteer for anything. Heard that bit of advice early and often growing up and took it to heart. Didn't break that rule until 2019 when I volunteered to be a clinic escort at the only abortion clinic

Over the years I've taken a lot of photos at protests. Mostly I'm trying to document what's going on around me but I still end up with a bunch of shots that don't fit neatly with that. These are more snapshots

Got a notification last night, it's my HIVE birthday! Been on the blockchain for four years now and somehow it simultaneously seems like much longer than that and nowhere near that long ago. Joined at

We took a break from obsessively refreshing news websites to go visit some family this weekend. It was a welcome respite from everything, even got to get some shooting in on Sunday. I'd gotten a new wide

Well, Putin's Folly is in it's second day and we've yet to see a nuclear detonation, counts as a win in my book. Don't sell your fallout shelter just yet, there's still plenty of time. The fog of war is

Y'all started digging fallout shelters yet? Probably too late for that anyway. Bloody chekist bastard finally pulled the trigger it looks like. Ever since the festivities started in Ukraine I've done little

It's official, I'm going back to DC! Not in a helicopter though. Judging by the livery on the chopper above, I suspect that may be one of the whirlybirds used as Marine One which leads me to believe that

Couple weeks ago I posted about flooding here in Louisville, now it's starting to look like I'll get some fresh flooding to shoot soon. They're predicting 1 to 3 inches of rain will fall today and by Friday

Ever wish things were a little more boring? Me neither. We've got a war in the works, freedumb convoys and police being their usual bloody bully selves. Allah only knows what Xi and the CCP is up to but

Tito told me this morning that the stars were aligned with the chakras and winter was in retrograde so I couldn't hardly pass up the opportunity to go for a #wednesdaywalk to Engine Bay. I've been to Engine

Been meaning to do a post on music for a while now, the playlist in my head has gotten stuck in a rut and is about to wear itself out. Had a bunch of old photos from concerts at the state fair over the

It's Valentine's Day and love is in the air! Guess that makes the breeze a vector for venereal disease... Steamy, moist, and stinking to the high heavens, if ever there was a place where it seemed like

I got's me a censorship y'all! Had me a bit of money stashed away from selling wireless extension cords and figured I'd better spend it before people started realizing what that 'satisfaction guarantee'

Is flood photography a thing? Louisville is a river town and nothing says river town quite like a good flood. This town is no stranger to floods although it's been a few years since we had a proper one.

Americans are a queer tribe. Lived here my whole life and still have no earthly idea why we do half the shit we do. One quirk that I've always been particularly baffled by is our obsession with roadside

Oh Evander So furry and tender Your demands for breakfast Are fucking relentless The talons you grow Ain't just for show And I've got the scars to prove it Quadrupedal shit machine With your own latrine

My partner's plans for today fell through, so to make up for it we decided the best thing to do was buy Magic cards. I'd been eying the silver screen foils in the 'new' Innistrad: Double Feature set for

Ain't that the catch-22 that is life in a nutshell? Do what we say! But don't you try to blame us if it goes badly! Happened across that on the wall of an art museum which makes me wonder if the absurdity
