Is it really Saturday? Quarantine time seems to bear little resemblance to what the calendar is saying, and the weather sure isn't helping. I'm beginning to wonder if the pandemic is starting to affect the spacetime continuum... Either way, 62 degrees (17C) is lovely weather for mid-December and I'm taking as much advantage of it as my confinement will allow.
It's been three days since my test that came back positive for the covid, but no symptoms to report as of yet. My pandemic partner and I got tested at the same time but theirs came back negative so we're quarantining separately and I'm none too happy about this. I've not been very active on here since I got the results back, I've been sulking a bit and binge reading wikipedia. The song below is one by James McMurtry, he's one of my favorite artists but I'd never noticed this tune before today. Listening to it, it seemed quite apt for this year we're almost through with, and also helped to put me in much better mood.
What music do y'all listen to when you want to change your mood? One of my best friends would always complain that my music depressed him but it had the opposite effect on me. We both loved to listen to the blues but got completely different things from it apparently.
All these photos come from one of my wanderings around my neighborhood earlier this year. This weather is just about perfect for wandering, under other circumstances I would be out and about with my camera today. I'm somewhat suspicious that my test result may have been a false positive, my pandemic partner is just about the only person I've been around for the past few weeks and they're negative so I'm getting another test on Monday, I've got my fingers crossed that I might be able to escape from confinement in less than two weeks. If that proves to not be the case then it's on to plan B, camping!
I've got a place back in the hills with nary a neighbor in sight, I can't think of a better place to isolate (or need much more of an excuse to go). During my Wikipedia binge I came across this article about rammed earth structures and it piqued my curiousity. I've always wanted to build a place on my property that was sustainable and not reliant on existing infrastructure. Now to see if I can figure out a way to use the rammed earth techniques to create an earthship, preferably without the need for all the tires.
I don't often post photos taken with my phone, I can't get the results with it that I can using my DSLR, but that is more my fault than the camera's. My pandemic partner is a badass photographer that does amazing work witha phone camera, I'm working on getting them on hive but the crypto world is still a bit foreign (you can see what I'm talking about here though). @daveks's 'through the lens of a smartphone' series of posts has given me an idea, I'm going to try and use all this unexpected free time to put together a '2020 through the lens of a smartphone' post....if I can track down where I backed up all my photos at.
It's not Caturday without a cat photo! I think this is probably enough rambling out of me, a catnap is starting to sound good right about now. If y'all are bored and looking for something to do, drop in on @galenkp's weekend engagement post and say howdy! There's always some interesting people to meet around those parts.
