Les comparto la receta de mi madre 隆iniciemos! les encantar谩 馃憣

INGREDIENTES: para 7 arepitas de 8 cms

  • 200 gramos de harina de trigo todo uso
  • 1/2 Taza de leche liquida tibia
  • 1/2 cucharada de mantequilla
  • 1 cucharada de az煤car
  • 1 huevo a temperatura ambiente
  • 1 cucharadita de polvo de hornear
  • Pizca de sal

PREPARACION:

Paso 1:

Hello my dear community of foodiesbeehive@foodiesbeehive, greetings to all who enjoy good food and cooking make your passion and enjoyment

Today I want to share with you a very delicious recipe, characteristic of my Andean region ( T谩chira) I remember that my mother and grandmother used to make them very often for breakfast, afternoon snack or dinner. These are the delicious wheat arepas or Andean arepas. They are a variation of the traditional corn flour arepas recipe. They are made with wheat flour mixed with egg, sugar, butter, milk and salt, they are characterized by having a sweet touch and are spongy. They can be served with ham, cheese, chicken or meat. Its texture is similar to that of bread. I share with you my mother's recipe, let's start! you'll love it 馃憣

INGREDIENTS: for 7 arepitas of 8 cms.

  • 200 grams of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup warm liquid milk
  • 1/2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 egg at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

PREPARATION:

Step 1:

In a bowl place all the ingredients: flour, egg, milk, butter, baking powder, sugar and pinch of salt. Knead or take to the mixer with a paddle to beat heavy mixes (spiral or hook) for 5 minutes at low speed.

Step 2:

On the work surface place wheat flour. Take the dough and knead until it does not stick to the table. Divide the dough into 7 portions, make spheres and flatten slightly making circles. Let stand for 45 minutes.

Step 3:

In a frying pan or griddle, heated over medium low heat, place the arepas. It is important not to add oil to the pan and that the arepas have wheat flour on the surface. This will make them brown without sticking. The secret is in the cooking: First, let the arepas brown lightly on one side, flip them and then cover the pan and lower the heat, flip them every 3 minutes, they will grow and brown. In my case 3 times per side was enough.

And ... ready! enjoy this delicacy! Serve hot, in our region it is common to serve it with cream, custard, butter or fresh cheese. Friends I invite you to prepare them, you will love them. I hope you like it. I send you a big hug and until the next recipe.
