On the Sunday that has just ended, I had one of the best recent moments with my beautiful girl. I had been thinking about it for weeks. That is, I wanted her and I to have a beautiful Halloween celebration together. While the original day is tomorrow 10/31, the fact remains that I wanted to have fun with my daughter over the weekend.

Now, what did we do? She had not been feeling well for the past week. She had been sick with the flu, and had previously been recovering from a minor muscle injury she had while dancing. Nothing serious, fortunately. But I could see the discomfort in her mood and especially in how she felt on a daily basis.

I planned my week to be completely free of responsibilities on Sunday. I wanted to surprise her and stretch the day so we could do lots of things. We ate ice cream (pistachio.and chocolate), went to a small children's park and spent most of the afternoon at the Mall. Having fun and showing off our makeovers for the date.....

She has matured so much. I still remember the little girl watching cartoons and asking me about the reason for the costumes on Halloween. In Venezuela, it is not so common to celebrate it. In fact, in many places it is frowned upon (for reasons that even I don't understand). And it is inevitable not to let out a tear of nostalgia... My little girl is older, smarter and above all, our relationship is more mature.

She is (also) still my baby, of course. But now our conversations and interactions have taken on another level, and so as a mother that feeling is beautiful. Also, for all of you who still have your mother, I confess that yes, it is true; we love our children too much. And it is also true, everything we do with our children, we feel it is unique; even if it is totally normal...

So, why did I decide to make this post? Mainly to leave a physical record of the growth and development of my relationship with my daughter and also because I am deeply happy to talk about her. I love her, I am proud of my daughter and besides, it comes from my heart to do so. I want her to value and know the little things. Living with mom, laughing, being accomplices and being together. I wouldn't substitute any moment I've had with her for absolutely nothing (again, I cry, haha).

I love my daughter, I never tire of saying it or expressing it. And I think it's a beautiful moment, a beautiful platform and above all, an unbeatable opportunity to save this memory digitally. It would be beautiful if she, one day in the future, would read it and see the photographs. I would love to see her expression; and just in case (who knows?) I salute you, beloved daughter; mommy adores you, precious one.

Halloween, for my baby, was synonymous with celebration, joy and fun. I, as a mother, am satisfied. I love her immensely, and I believe that the efforts we parents make for our children will always be worth it. At least, I know I would, without hesitation. We had such a great time, that the quality of the pictures do not reflect the quality of the moment. I care more about building memories with my daughter, than photographic perfection. Order of priorities, always.

Whether you are someone's mum or dad, I think the spirit of this post is really about recognising the small and beautiful details that give meaning to our lives. In my case, with my little girl and the habit of having fun with her. All the photographs in this post are of my own.
