Steve and Ted stayed back to rush their work in the school’s art room for the art presentation next week. They were both committee members of the Art Society assigned to draw the posters. They had been procrastinating their work, and now had to burn the midnight oil to get things done on time.

They planned to finish their work within a few hours, but the poster took them much longer than they thought. Soon, it was already eight-something at night.

They felt so hungry because they had skipped dinner. So they walked to the convenient store in front of their school to buy cup noodles.

Compared to the noisy campus during daytime, their empty school at night seemed so gloomy. Steve was so afraid that he kept swallowing his saliva.

Walking down the dark corridor, Ted started knocking on the doors of the empty classrooms.

“Ted, could you please stop doing that? Isn’t this place scary enough” Steve grumbled.
Ted ignored Steve and continued to knock on the door as he walked past the next classroom.

Steve stared at Ted fiercely, but Steve said he just wanted to have some fun.

“Hey, haven’t you heard of the ghost story? Ghosts would come out if you knock on the door of an empty classroom,” Steve said to Ted angrily.

Walking past the third and forth classrooms, Ted stopped knocking for a while.

But as they came downstairs, Ted did it again.

“Knock! Knock! Knock!”

More than what he could bear, Steve walked faster.

Ted knew he went overboard. He caught up with Steve and promised him to stop fooling around. And just then they heard the sound coming from the classrooms behind them.

Taap-taap

Taap-taap,

Taap-taap…
