Today I want to share with you a new world I'm discovering and falling in love with. With a lot of respect for the subculture, I've started to delve deeper into goth... Its music, its art, its literature and its cinema, mainly.

Starting to read about the gothic subculture is something that has been deeply interesting to me, and it has also allowed me to discover things that I didn't know I had always been looking for. Personally, I've always been drawn to the gloomy and the melancholic, and that's why I connected so much with this subculture; so, for me, it has been a space where I feel identified and comfortable being myself.

Besides that, goth emerged from post-punk with a rebellious attitude; a view I also share. I believe that goth is not something you become, but something you always were and then discover.

I took these photos with a makeup look I did, inspired by what its music conveys. Just to clarify, the photos aren't bad quality, I just put a filter on them, hehe. As a person who loves music in general, I find it a very beautiful subculture, since it's strongly based on music; I was able to discover some really good bands (my favorite so far being Switchblade Symphony, feeling very connected to their nature, so melodic and ethereal).

Lastly, it's important to know that goth is not a costume, but an identity that represents many people. I mention this because there's still a lot of confusion surrounding the subculture, and I think it's important to clarify it.

Today I shared a little more about myself. See you in the next post, mwah.
