I’ve recently been dabbling in intermittent fasting & high protein, hi fat meals to see how my body responds. So far it feels great, been fasting roughly 16-20 hours a day, 3 or 4 days a week for a monthish. Feels so good when I stick to it for discipline & digestion.
I might transition to just one meal a day soon to see how that feels. I think it is really important to make gradual changes in a diet to let your body adapt. Your digestion will function differently depending on what it is most used to digesting. It takes time to create the proper digestive environment for what you want to be eating.
So for a big post workout pre fast meal, I gorged on a juicy ribeye, some leftover salmon, half a plate of brown rice, a delicious baby squash, & 1/2 an avocado
Squash is delicious, cheap & full of much needed potassium. Hadn’t had a steak in quite awhile & was juicy delicious, pan fried super hot in olive oil, & good butter, with plenty of sea salt.
Excuse the messy pic 👆was nom nom nom nom nomming
So now I won’t eat for at least 17 hours, maybe 20 if I’m feeling all warm belly fasty goodness ☺️
Stay healthy everybody, we are what we eat 🐟
