Got on the bike to recce a ride planned for this weekend. Have ridden all the road bits but wanted to check the sand track access between Beach Road and Gerroa
Starting out past Mountain Ridge Winery with its resplendent lion draped in pink
Was on the lookout for hyacinth orchids. A new cluster directly opposite the recycling centre - 3 plants showing
I have a few orchid friends joining next week's rides doen this way. This one will be open when they come by
A bit further along did find one open. Rose hyacinth orchid - a new location too
Dipodium roseum - first for the season
Looking back to Cambewarra Mountain just before reaching Beach Road
Did find the next hyacinth orchid ina known spot - slender hyacinth orchid
One flower open from tbe bottom but fungal rot will be the end of the other buds - dipodium variegatum
A chance there will be openers here next week
A cluster of pink heading into Beach Road beach access - maybe oxalis
Did ride Sand Track North Loop. It runs 2.8kms to Gerroa Picnic Area. Easy enough to ride as the track is wide and firm. The next section was hard to ride with lots of twists. Walked a lot of it. Will do the road Saturday
Longest and quickest ride of the year.
Cycled down to shop later to get ingredients for dinner
Wandered up to bowling club for one beer around badge draw time. Bumped into one of the people joining the cycling weekend. He is a few days early. Good chin wag. First person I have talked with in a few days
Did cook dinner - sweet and sour pork without the traditional fried pork bit. Pork fillet was super tender - did not need messing with
