Weekend day and a planned visit with my wife's son and grandson. Idea is to go to Sydney Fish Markets. Decided to make a different idea. While my wife drive down to puck up Ollie and Byron, I caught the train into the city to make my own way. That way I get my walking done without walking local streets when we get back.

alt

Trains were busier than normal because of track work up the line. Made a train change to the Metro - bad choice as it was standing room only. Got out a station early to walk from Barangaroo. What was forecast to be a rainy day turned into a fab blue sky day. Lifebelt could be the theme

alt

New art installation since my last walk - fishing floats on a big scale and in fab colours. New hotel build behind is topping out

alt

Different angle across to Pyrmont wharf buildings does not offer the same colours. My wife's last job was over that side

alt

Walked past Barangaroo wharf - marker board says 2 minutes across to where here offices were. That is where I need to get to.

alt

Crown Casino behind the other wharf

alt

Another view of the new hotel build from the ferry. Maritime museum in front

alt

Views back to Barangaroo. Ferry offers fab uninterrupted angles

alt

View back to the city skyline with Sky Tower showing in the centre

alt

The old Pyrmont Bridge Rd hotel for sale. Not to be confused with the Pyrmont Hotel just off Darling Harbour

There were a lot of people walking to the Fish Markets. Public transport is a bit limited. New Metro station at Pyrmont Bay will shorten the walk. Trams do not have enough capacity and they run too far part. They could do with a ferry wharf.

alt

Could stick it right in front in the shadow of the Anzac Bridge. Note the next of the lifebelt shots. Walked about the markets a bit - it was crazy busy. OK for buying fish but hard for buying food.

alt

Did get the live lobster shot

alt

Ate my sandwich and waited for the crew with a view back to Sky Tower and where I walked from

alt

Ollie soon took over seagull patrol duties from the dog that dies that. Its handler walks around and chases the birds away

alt

Action photo - two birds flying and Ollie hunting down the next. Byron found a way to short circuit the queues to buy food. We then did the live lobster and crab tanks. Did shop prawns and fish for a few meals. Next task - pelican patrol

alt

And home. Dropped Ollie and Byron off. Pleased to have done things this way - a clear afternoon to catch up on options expiry accounting - steps done - photos made

Did cook dinner - macaroni cheese layered with crispy bacon and sauteed mushrooms - new idea worked well with pops of creamy mushroom and crunchy bacon
