Farewell to Coolangatta Mountain and welcome to spring : August 16 2026
A day in a few parts - pack up for the return to Sydney
A different view of Coolangatta Mountain on the way to the bins. The climber with the orange flowers reminds me of the I grew up in all those years ago. It is a golden delicious - we had one growing in our front patio - year after year
Budding dendrobium speciosum - Sydney rock orchid - a few doors up. Photo is a fix - because of the sloping panels behind the cropping tool will not create an equal aoded frame. It tries to line up the panels - some young IT jock knows better what a user might want
Next plant doen has flowers identified. No trouble cripping this one as the panels are somewhat in a straight line behind
Next part of the return trip was rhe drive up to Moorebank to visit my wife's disabled brother in his new home. He has been moved into a new place which will be shared with a few other blokes in care. He has not been happy with the move. Nice house. New carers seem really good. Important time to get him settled
Spent an hour and then headed back to Sydney. Unpacked and then went for a walk to get the steps up. Signs of spring walk

Did cook dinner - Wiener Schnitzel with chips and veges. Worked well. Prefer chicken
End of a good weekend. It is so good to get away from the noise of the lady who lives above us. Good to be able to jump on a bike and cycle anywhere quickly and safely - then walk for orchids
