Magnolia themed Killara walk - magnolias - Thai dinner : July 19 2026
After a full day on the trains yesterday was a day to take things a bit easier. Made a big dent in the options expiry accounting. No grandson visit today - he was with his Dad yesterday
Did head out for a walk to get some steps done. Walked a loop of the Killara streets - became a bit of property for sale walk. Apartment on the street going down to the Marian Theatre a d a short walk to Killara Station

Maybe a theme emerging - magnolia opening and an old style house
A different theme - the remnants of the Marian Street precinct. Theatre is closed. Needlecraft shop still going
Cafe still going - shop to the right is shut
And just around the corner below the station is this new block of apartments. Nobody moved in

For Sale boards still up. Surprised these did not all sell off the plan. Location is good - price too high?

An old style single story house. Can only imagine a knock down and a wall to wall double story and a pool in the back. Doubt there is anything heritage about the house
Render job had hidden anything heritage on this one - dies have half floor up with dormer windows
Walk done
Did cook dinner. Thai fish cakes. A simple recipe. White fish chopped. Slice of onion chopped. Side of capsicum chopped. A few green beans chopped. Seasoned with massaman curry paste, green curry paste, green peppercorns. Thicken with rice flour, beaten egg
Make into balls and cook in hot oil - just needs a drizzle across the pan
Push flat - cook maybe two minutes a side
Serve with a sprinkling of chopped basil or coriander and sweet chili sauce or coriander dipping sauce. Pick your favourite
