Grey rainy day walk across Sydney Harbour Bridge : July 17 2026
It is a grey rainy day with a chance of drying out later in the day. Kept busy till lunchtime - took that early and headed out with umbrella. Took the train toward the city. Decided to walk the Harbour Bridge
Photo of church in Kirribili from the steps up to the bridge - was dry to start
View across toward Barangaroo and the first of the bridge pylons - looks a bit grey that way. Pleased I took an umbrella
Looking bleak over toward the heads
Ferry crossing in front of the Sydney Opera House - rain coming from that side
View across to the navy base. Made it to the first pylon before the rain set in - decided to walk around the Cahill Walkway and catch the Circle line from there. Not walked this far around before
Circular Quay and the city behind
Context photo
Makes for new angles across the harbour - tried to get a ferry in each shot
Australian Hotel - well known for pizza - located above The Rocks
The Canada sign caught my eye. Behind is the Shangri-La Hotel - where I spent my first visit to Sydney. Was called the ANA Hotel then - 26 years now
View of the new AMP building behind Customs House
A damp day for Bastille celebrations - chose to walk straight on
View back to Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Walked down to Circular Quay station and took the Circle Line back to Central Station. First time taking this line. Makes a good way to get from the bridge around to the Metro line.
Glad I got out walking. Was pretty noisy with traffic running along wet roads
My wife had been on a work lunch - no need to cook dinner. Did left overs for my dinner. Was up late watching Tour de France and waiting for US markets to open. A few trades to square away. Have decided to let a lot of sold puts go to assignment- then do the long hold
