After yesterday's pickleball introduction was keen on an easy day. Turned down the chance to use the car to go look for orchids while my wife went to visit a friend for crochet/knitting/Bad Sister session
Took the bike down to the river to walk across to Comerong Island - Coolangatta Mountain shot while the sun was still up high
This little birdie hung around long enough for me to get camera zoomed in
Takes 10 to 15 minutes to walk here from our side - road trip plus ferry would be at least 45 minutes. With fatbike tyres could cut that down in half.

Walk is a recce walk for autumn greenhoods - first leaves shows the challenge the orchids have getting through the leaf litter. There are a lot of deciduous trees in the canopy
Was hoping to find one helmet orchid I flower - this is as close to a flower - too early to ID
