Read a post from a friend about her orchid walk in Lyrebird Gully. It is a short walk from Mt Ku-ring Gai station. Have walked it a few times - steep and hot and home to a few chiloglottis orchids
Always a Sydney boronia flowering at the top
Good track for banksia flowers too. Just as well as I find the top part of the track that abuts the houses to be overrun with garden escapees

One flower - not totally consistent with normal patterns but would say chiloglottis seminuda
Mushroom time - did walk a bit further than previous walks. Track goes into sheoak zone - orchids do not like the acid
Turnaround point - in the rainforest. Disappointing to not find greenhood rosettes
Acianthus orchid leaves - no buds. My friend found one open. Maybe next time I will do a whole segment of the Great North Walk between stations
