Thought I was improving but had another disturbed night - coughing a lot - some started from being fully asleep. Body is in full struggle mode. Cannot rely on my legs to hold me. Could not swivel and turn. Got no appetite. Sort of drifted the morning away but did finish off the weekly investing post

alt

Was keen to get out to walk Blackbutt Creek but not convinced I could walk all the way down and then back up the hill. Took the car - first photo of a grand eucalyptus in afternoon light

alt

Crimson rosella flew right be and stopped next to me to chomp fruit

alt

Tree fallen over the firetrail blocking vehicle access. Sure hope I do not have a blackout though the track does have two other access points

alt

Mission today - hyacinth orchids - first ones budding

alt

Budding form close up - dipodium variegatum

alt

Budding bonnet orchids - 8 plants I counted

alt

Starburst flowers opening

alt

Slightly different form - like a bullet head

alt

Broad-leafed geebung just beginning to flower

alt

Flannel flower - this one saved me having to clamber down the rocks for the first one I saw

alt

Hakea flower

alt

Trigger flower

alt

Found a few more hyacinth orchids on the way out - may 10 different locations and all plants in good shape. This one on the way back - bud looks healthy but there is that white sheath - it is a fungus - easily wiped off

alt

Close up of the bud

alt

Another one along that same rock wall

alt

2nd photo with focus on the back orchid - a seeded bearded orchid

alt

And the first one showing separation of the pedicels as opening begins - dipodium variegatum

alt

Always find the cockatoo in this spot in the afternoon as they begin to settle for the evening - this one posed linger than normal

alt

Said to myself "the tongue orchids are about here' - yep - cryptostylis subulata

alt

Counted 10 flower spikes - all healthy

alt

Front on photo gives a clue as to why some have the English name as slipper orchid. Successful walk - lined a lot for spots for dipodium orchids and did get one type open

alt

Took the creek track off the fire trail to avoid the fallen tree. Sure pleased I drove.

My wife was a little late getting home as she was picking up her grandson

Cooked a small cheat dinner for me - no appetite yet

alt

Did get the investing post out - a bit delayed as needed to fix two charts in it.
