Sky came out blue. My plan was to get out and walk a track looking for a specific orchid seen last year on the west side of Ku-ring Gai Chase NP. A bit far to ride had me driving

alt

Hiding in the undergrowth - hairy fan flower

alt

Got to take photo of any orchids even if they have seeded

alt

Guinea flower

alt

Pink wax flowers - structure in the middle is a but different to the others

alt

There were heaps of these - saw the insect arrive but not able to get it in focus

alt

Spied a rosette of greenhood leaves

alt

Greenhood budding

alt

My favourite photo of the day - banksia against a blue sky

alt

Context photo on Bairne Track - rains have dropped a lot of sand

alt

Went off track into the rainforest - heart shaped leaf on the ground - no buds

alt

Rainforest views

alt

No orchids flowering but I did find mushrooms - it is autumn after all

alt

Surprised to see patersonia still flowering - there was more than this one

alt

Great views across to the mountains heading west. Not often is it that clear

alt

Did find a few midget orchids not quite open - hard to ID but guessing fringed modge orchids

alt

Is this different? Maybe not

alt

How is this one?

alt

Did find the orchid in flower for the orchid of the day

alt

Fringed midge orchid

alt

Corunastylis fimbriata. Was not far from ending my walk and I saw a bum in the air - an orchid photographer. Well. Well. Well. It is Kimba Dingo from Facebook orchids posts.

We have been sharing orchid stuff for a few years and we get a face to face chance. Follow me a short way down the road and I will show you the greenhood I posted last week - here it is

alt

Pterostylis daintreeana - a new find for me

alt

The flower is maybe 3 match heads big flowering 3 inches off the ground. The context photo is amazing - there are at least 6 orchid types growing on the sedge on top of these rocks.

alt

This is also a special Aboriginal site - we chatted with some of the brothers there. All connected with the land - the orchid spotters more so

Great to be out on a blue sky day with the rain forecast tomorrow. And I was introduced to an orchid hotspot and a nutcase as passionate as I am.

The rest of the day went into investing accounting on my other portfolios and a few crypto moves.

Dinner: Spaghetti for the bolognese sauce my wife cooked at weekend

Trade action: Bought PKX, WMT, ENGI.PA,. Credit spreads on AMD, AMLP, NVDA, SEDG. Crypto: Bought IOTX. Staked PLEO:WMATIC, PolyCUB
