Saludos y abrazos.
Greetings friends of this wonderful community, this time I want to share with you a rich and delicious dessert, for the little ones at home and even to share and spend an afternoon with the family.
As some of you know I have four beautiful children and who doesn't like desserts for snacks? My children are on the list, as they are used to eat some candy in the afternoon, but I do not always give them because sometimes we do not have to give them, however my four year old son who is the youngest, does not know when there is and when there is not so therefore, I am forced to have snacks for them.
A few days ago I wanted to make them a different snack than the ones I always give them. So I decided to prepare an oatmeal flan, honestly I had never prepared an oatmeal flan before, so I looked for some help on the internet to see how to prepare it. I was guided by the indications and I went for it, I bought the ingredients which were oatmeal, cornstarch and sugar.
Once I had all the ingredients in my hands, I got down to work and I want to share with you the steps in case you are motivated to make it.
**First step.
Take the oat flakes and place them in a bowl.
Add enough water and let it soak for a few hours, in my case I left it for two hours. The more hours you let it soak the better.
After the two hours had passed, I drained it to remove some of the water and placed it in a small cup. Here we can see the cornstarch and the cup of sugar.
Next I took the cornstarch and dissolved it in half a liter of natural water. In a blender I added all the ingredients, added the oats, sugar, cornstarch and blended very well.
Once blended, in my case I passed it through a strainer to make sure there were no flakes left behind and the mixture will be perfect.
Then I put it in a pot and took it to the fire and put it in the middle so it wouldn't burn, I was there stirring and stirring.
Then I added two teaspoons of vanilla and kept stirring.
With a spoon I lifted the mixture to see if it was ready, ie thick. Once ready I removed from the heat and let it rest.
Next I took a round cake pan to make the caramel.
I took it to the fire, added three tablespoons of sugar and three tablespoons of water. It was cooking little by little as we can see here, it was foaming and taking color. To make this caramel we must be careful not to burn it.
Once the caramel was ready I covered the whole pan and then I added the mixture and let it rest and then put it in the refrigerator for about three hours and our flan was ready. Now we wait to see the final results.
Friends these were the results I got.
I confess that I was a little nervous for a moment I thought it would not turn out well since it was my first time making an oatmeal flan. But I tell you that it was very tasty, I think it lacked a little more sugar, but overall, it was very nice and tasty.
This has been all my dear friends I hope you enjoy it. Greetings and hugs.
